Air Inlet Housing
HOUSING-AIR INLET
NOTE: Manual Temperature Control (MTC) shown. Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) similar.
1. Remove the HVAC housing assembly and place it on a workbench HVAC Housing - Removal.
2. Remove the air inlet housing from the HVAC housing HVAC Housing - Removal.
3. Remove the two screws (1 and 3) that secure the recirculation door actuator (2) to the air inlet housing (4) and remove the actuator.
4. Remove the recirculation door coupler (1), located at the bottom of the air inlet housing (2). First, using a small flat bladed screwdriver, reach through the recirculation door grill and disengage the retaining tab, located on the bottom of the recirculation air door. Then pull the coupler straight out.
NOTE: If the foam seal on the air inlet housing is deformed or damaged, the seal must be replaced.
5. Carefully cut the foam seal (1) along the parting lines (1 and 4) of the two halves of the air inlet housing (3).
6. Remove the five screws (2, 4, 5 and 7) that secure the two halves of the air inlet housing together (1 and 5) and separate the housing..
NOTE: If a rubber seal on the recirculation air-door is deformed or damaged, the air-door must be replaced.
7. Remove the recirculation air door (1) from the upper half of the air inlet housing (2).
