Rear Suspension Coil Spring(s) - Installation

INSTALLATION

NOTE: The part tag on the coil spring has a specific color and pattern which indicate different load ratings. When replacing coil springs, the new coil spring must have the same part tag as the spring that was removed. Also, the part tag must be installed to the top mount.

1. Place the coil springs (1) on top of the axle spring perches, ensuring that the part tag is on the end facing up and the bottom "D" shape of the coil spring matches the "D" shape in the lower isolator.
2. Raise the transmission jack guiding the coil springs (1) into the spring mounting brackets on the body of the vehicle. Raise the jack until the shock absorber lower mounting bolts (4) can be installed though the axle brackets and shock absorber lower mounting eyes.
3. With the axle at approximate ride height, tighten the lower mounting bolts (4) to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).
4. Remove the transmission jack.

5. On both sides of the vehicle, install the tire and wheel assembly Tires And Wheels - Installation.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Check for proper vehicle curb height Wheel Alignment Procedures.
