During diagnosis of an inoperative power tailgate glass, service personnel are requested to examine the connection at the tailgate latch assembly to assure that the prongs of the male connector attached to the latch are not bent. The male and female connectors must be firmly connected (Figure 22). This examination should be done prior to performing the motor and window switch tests outlined in Section 42-35 of the 1983 Light Truck Shop Manual, to preclude unnecessary service replacement of power window motors.
