The double Cardan universal joints require periodic lubrication, as stated in both the owner's and shop manuals. This item is often missed during routine maintenance and lack of lubrication will lead to shortened joint life. The fitting should be serviced using the lubrication adapter (Figure 6). This can be performed without removing the driveshaft.
