These valves are used to direct air pump output to the exhaust manifold or downstream to the catalyst system depending on the engine control modes.
Three types of valves are used on 1982-83 vehicles, the standard air control valve, Fig. 67, the air control/shut-off valve, Fig. 68, and the air control/shut-off valve with orifice, Fig. 69.
