AIR CONDITIONING-HEATER DAMPER DOOR AND HOUSING ASSEMBLY-SERVICE PART INFORMATION

LIGHT TRUCK: 1975-84 ECONOLINE


ISSUE: The air conditioning/heater damper door and housing assembly to service 1975 through 1984 Econolines are no longer available for service. A new design air conditioning/heater damper door and housing assembly replaces the old design. The new assembly can be used on older Econolines if a few minor changes are made.

ACTION: If service is required on an older Econoline, use the new air conditioning/heater damper door and housing assembly. Refer to the following procedure for service installation details.

1. Trim the flange off three (3) sides of the door frame as shown in Figure 1.

2. Position the template shown in Figure 2 on the door frame.

3. Drill two (2) holes in the bottom of the door frame for attaching it to the housing assembly.

4. Attach the door frame to the housing assembly with two (2) 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) screws.
