Some pre-combustion chamber (pre-cup) inserts are being replaced because of the appearance of cracks. Cracks radiating from the insert throat that do not reach the fire ring mark are acceptable (Figure 19). Cracking becomes unacceptable when the cracks extend beyond the fire ring mark.
