SPECIAL NOTE:

The following instructions describe the installation procedure for the fuel tank venting improvement package. It is designed specifically for Ford E350-based ambulances. These vehicles are completed by many different second stage manufacturers. It is not possible to identify all the designs and modifications used by these manufacturers. Therefore, if you encounter difficulties not anticipated in these instructions, contact the closest Ford Parts and Service Division District Office for assistance.

ROAD TEST

Prior to inspection and installation of appropriate kits, the vehicle should be road-tested to determine if driveability (hesitation, stalls, rough idle, diesels, hot hard start, etc.), transmission (shift quality) or throttle "kicker" concerns exist. A second road test should be performed after kit installation and service repairs (related to the inspection procedure) to confirm that the vehicle performs satisfactorily. Properly installed modification kits will not result in degradation of driveability, fuel economy or performance. If new problems do occur as a result of the modification, review kit installation procedures and repairs that were related to the inspection procedure for discrepancies and correct before returning the vehicle to the customer. Driveability, transmission and the "kicker" related problems noted prior to kit installation should be brought to the attention of the owner and handled in the normal manner. Such problems and associated repairs are NOT part of this modification program.
