High clutch efforts and difficulty in shifting the transmission may be due to deterioration/wear out of the clutch linkage components. A new service kit is available to update 1978-83 model vehicles to the 1984 hydraulic release system. The kit includes all the clutch components to completely rebuild and update the system. Additionally, the kit includes components and instructions to update the 3-speed transmission shift linkage to improve shifting characteristics.
