CYLINDER HEAD BOLT AND CONNECTING ROD NUT TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS (6.9L DIESEL) - REVISED SERVICE INFORMATION


LIGHT TRUCKS 1983-84 F & E SERIES

The cylinder head bolt torque and connecting rod nut torque specifications have been increased to maximize the clamping load on the cylinder heads and connecting rods.

The maximum cylinder head bolt torque is increased to 80 ft.lbs. (108 N-m). The torque sequence remains the same as previously published (Figure 16).

The connecting rod nut maximum torque range is increased to 51 +/- 2.5 ft.lbs. (70 +/- 2 N-m)

The new cylinder head bolt, and connecting rod nut torque specifications supersede those previously published in TSB 83-12-14.
