LIGHT TRUCKS 1983 E & F SERIES

The cylinder head bolt torque limit specification for the 6.9L diesel engine was published incorrectly in the 1983 Truck Shop Manual. The correct torque limit sequence is:

1st time - 54 N-m (40 ft.lbs.) 2nd time - 81 N-m (60 ft.lbs.) 3rd time - 102 N-m (75 ft.lbs.)

Please amend page 22-08-60 of your 1983 Truck Shop Manual to show the correct torque limits.
