On these engines the oil pump is contained within the front cover.
1. If necessary remove oil filter.
2. Remove oil pump cover attaching bolts and remove cover.
3. Lift pump gears off pocket in front cover.
4. Remove cover gasket. Discard gasket.
5. If necessary, remove pump gears from cover.
6. Reverse procedure to install. If gears have been removed, pack gear pocket with petroleum jelly. Do not use chassis lubricants.
