Vehicles Built on or After February 20, 1984:
Service/Replacement of Driveshaft/Couplingshaft

These vehicles are equipped with a "system balanced" 2-piece driveline, each piece of which will have a new part number label with assembly part number E4TA- 4K145-AA. Anytime a couplingshaft or driveshaft has to be replaced on a unit with this new -4K145- label, a new service assembly E4TZ-4R602-A, which is a balanced assembly (couplingshaft and driveshaft) should be ordered.

All 1983/1984 Vehicles: Vibration

If any 1983/84 5.0L/AOD or 1984 5.0L/C5 vehicles matching the above model specifications exhibits driveline vibration that cannot be corrected by TSB 140, or Section 13 of the Shop Manual, a service couplingshaft/driveshaft assembly E4TZ-4R602-A should be ordered.
