STALLS DUE TO FUEL STARVATION (6.9L DIESEL) - FUEL HOSE KINKED BETWEEN SIDE RAIL AND WATER/FUEL SEPARATOR

Fuel starvation on 6.9L diesel vehicles may be the result of a kink in the flexible fuel hoses between the left side frame rail and the water/fuel separator. To eliminate any kinks in the flexible fuel hoses, the following service procedure should be used:

CAUTION: DO NOT SERVICE BY SHORTENING THE HOSE IF A KINK IS PRESENT.

^ Route water separator fuel hoses from the water separator inlet-outlet nipples inboard of the water separator protective shield in front of the wiring harness, and to the rear of the speedometer cable and hydraulic clutch hose (Figure 15).
^ A minimum of 2" clearance must be provided between the water separator hoses and the steering column.
