EXCEPT. 1985 - 87 MODELS W/ELECTRIC CHOKE

1. Rotate choke cap 45 degrees counterclockwise to close the choke plate. Tighten screws.
2. Open and close throttle to place fast idle screw on top step of cam, Fig. 12.
3. Place a pull down gauge between lower edge of choke plate and air horn wall, then open and close the throttle to allow fast idle cam to drop.
4. Press upward on fast idle cam. There should be little or no movement indicating that the fast idle screw is on the kickdown step of the cam, against the first step.
5. To adjust, use a suitable tool and bend choke control rod to ensure proper fast idle location on the cam, Fig. 10.
6. Loosen screws and set choke thermostatic housing to the proper index mark, then tighten screws.
