Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove floor mat and body floor pan cover, then the shift lever and boot assembly and the weather pad.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Support transmission with a suitable jack and disconnect speedometer cable.
5. Disconnect back-up lamp switch electrical connector from back of gearshift lever housing.
6. Disconnect driveshaft or coupling shaft and clutch linkage from transmission and wire to one side.
7. Remove transmission rear insulator and lower retainer, then the crossmember.
8. Remove transmission attaching bolts, then slide transmission rearward and lower from vehicle.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
