Torque Table:
1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain cooling system.
2. On models equipped with V6-171 engine, remove air cleaner, then disconnect throttle linkage from carburetor.
3. On models equipped with V6-177 engine, remove intake tube from throttle body, then disconnect throttle linkage and cover.
4. On all models, remove distributor cap and wires as an assembly and disconnect distributor wiring harness.
5. Mark relationship of distributor rotor to housing for installation reference, and remove distributor from vehicle.
6. Remove radiator and bypass hoses from thermostat housing and intake manifold.
7. Remove rocker arm covers and rocker arm shafts as described under ``Rocker Arm Service.''
8. On models equipped with V6-171 engine, disconnect fuel line from carburetor and remove carburetor from vehicle.
9. On models equipped with V6-177 engine, remove fuel line from fuel rail.
10. On all models, remove intake manifold.
11. Remove pushrods in order so they can be installed in their original positions.
12. Remove exhaust manifolds.
13. Remove cylinder head attaching bolts and the cylinder head.
14. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. On models equipped with V6-171 engine, torque intake manifold attaching bolts to specifications in sequence shown in Fig. 2, and cylinder head attaching bolts to specifications, refer to torque table, in sequence shown in Fig. 3.
b. On models equipped with V6-177 engine, torque cylinder head attaching bolts to specifications in sequence shown in torque table.
