LIGHT TRUCKS 1983 RANGER

CALIBRATIONS: All Ranger 2.0/2.3L except 3-41P

Concerns with loading on all Ranger calibrations (except 3-41P-R15) during cold driveaways can be alleviated by changing the choke setting to one notch leaner than the original production setting. The Carter YFA carburetor employs an index plate to determine choke setting. The following chart should be used for identification of the indexing plate and original setting.

Example: If the original index plate is a Yellow (2NR) the change is then to a Gray (1NR).

After determining the correct index plate, follow the choke cap removal and installation procedure outlined in the 1983 Ranger Shop Manual, Section 24-06-07.



Obtain an Authorized Modifications decal and list the date, dealer number and summary of alterations performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications decal. Clean the area, install the decal and cover it with a clear plastic decal shield.
