Engine Knocks
1. Check all belt-driven components for looseness. If satisfactory, proceed to step 2. If any looseness is encountered, repair or replace component(s) as necessary.
2. Perform fuel system diagnostic procedures as described in ``Poor Engine Performance'' diagnosis. If fuel system is satisfactory, check engine main bearing clearances. If fuel system is malfunctioning, make necessary repairs and/or adjustments. If engine continues to knock, check main bearing clearances.
