4-135/2.2L Engine
1. Remove wire from M terminal on starter solenoid.
2. Connect positive lead of 12 volt source to terminal S and negative lead to starter motor body. Do not apply power for more than 20 seconds continuously.
3. Measure pinion travel, Fig. 3. If pinion travel is less than .669 inch, repair or replace as necessary.
