Pinpoint Test U: Sliding Door Contacts Open Fuel Filler Door

Normal Operation

The sliding door travel limiting latch system prevents the sliding door from making contact with the fuel filler door whenever the fuel filler door is unlocked and open. Opening the fuel filler door releases pressure on a spring located within the sliding door travel limiting latch cable assembly. The sliding door travel limiting latch cable assembly actuates the sliding door travel limiting latch. The sliding door travel limiting latch blocks the path of the sliding door rolling hinge stopping the sliding door.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- sliding door travel limiting latch cable assembly

U1 CHECK THE SLIDING DOOR TRAVEL LIMITING LATCH OPERATION


- Remove the sliding door travel limiting latch. For additional information, refer to Sliding Door Travel Limiting Latch Sliding Door Travel Limiting Latch.
- Attempt to move the stop lever on the sliding door travel limiting latch.
- Does the sliding door travel limiting latch operate easily without binding?

Yes

No
