Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

Inspection and Verification
1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the cigar lighter to duplicate the condition.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
- Damaged cigar lighter knob socket and retainer.
- Damaged cigar lighter knob and element.

Electrical
- Blown power distribution box fuse CIG/ILLUM (30A).
- Circuitry open/shorted.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concerns that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concerns remain after the inspection, determine the condition and go to the Symptom Chart.
