Charging System

CHARGING SYSTEM

The charging system is a negative ground system consisting of the following:
- generator
- internal voltage regulator
- charging system warning indicator
- battery
- circuitry and cables
- powertrain control module (PCM)

The generator is belt-driven by the engine accessory drive system. Light duty applications use the 4G generator and heavy duty applications use the 6G generator.
