Brake Pedal

Removal





1. Detach the instrument panel lower panel.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Release the fastener.





2. Remove the instrument panel lower panel.
^ Disconnect the hood release cable.
^ Disconnect the data link electrical connector.





3. Detach the pedal switches.
1 Unlock the switches
2 Detach the switches.





4. Detach the brake booster actuator rod.
1 Depress the clip.
2 Remove the pin.





5. Remove the brake pedal.
1 Remove the nut.
2 Slide the pedal shaft right.
3 Detach the brake pedal





6. Remove the brake pedal bushes.





7. Remove the brake pedal rubber.

Installation





1. Install the brake pedal rubber.





2. Install the brake pedal bushes.





3. Install the brake pedal.
1 Install the brake pedal.
2 Slide the pedal shaft left.
3 Install the nut.





4. CAUTION: Install a new brake booster actuator rod pin.

Install the brake booster actuator rod.





5. Set the stop lamp switch.
1 Pull the switch plunger out to its full extent.
2 Depress the brake pedal





6. NOTE: Slowly release the brake pedal.

Install pedal switches.
1 Install the switches.
2 Lock the switches in position.





7. Attach the instrument panel lower panel.
^ Connect the hood release cable.
^ Connect the data link electrical connector.





8. Install the instrument panel lower panel.
1 Attach the fastener.
2 Install the screws.
