Interior Lighting

INTERIOR LIGHTING

The interior lighting system consists of the following components:
- A front and rear interior lamp.
- A load space lamp.

The interior lighting system can be operated by a three position switch located within the interior lamp which gives:
- interior lamps on.
- interior lamps off.
- interior lamps on with door open with delay.

If the interior lamps are set to delay, as soon as the ignition key is turned to start the engine the lights will go out.

This function as all other timed functions is controlled by the generic electronic module (GEM). This module controls a number of independent systems by monitoring and controlling inputs and outputs.

When the GEM receives an input from a switch mounted to the doors or from the remote lock/unlock keyfob, this input activates the interior lamp function, which switches the interior lamp relay to switch the interior lamps on. The GEM will allow a 12 second period to pass before extinguishing the lights. This timer function is reset if any of the inputs are reactivated during this period.

The interior lamp delay function can also be activated by opening any of the doors. The door entry switch supplies the input to activate the interior lamp function.
