Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve: Service and Repair

POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE

REMOVAL

All vehicles
1. Raise and support the vehicle.







2. Remove the engine undershield.







3. Detach the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the PCV valve (catalytic converter removed for clarity).


Vehicles built up to 08/2002







4. Remove the PCV valve.

Vehicles built 08/2002 onwards







5. CAUTION: Do not pull the PCV valve from the crankcase vent oil separator without first rotating the PCV valve. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the PCV valve.

Remove the PCV valve.
1 Rotate the PCV valve counterclockwise.
2 Pull the PCV valve from the crankcase vent oil separator.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
