Suspension Design Height Setting

Suspension Design Height Setting

All vehicles

1. NOTE: The final tightening of the suspension must be carried out at the design height setting.

Remove the springs.





3-door, 4-door and 5-door
2. Detach the stabilizer bar from the rear lower arm.





3. Fabricate a 20 mm wide by 113 mm long spacer.





4. Using a suitable wooden block and a suitable transmission jack, raise the suspension to the design height setting.
^ Position the wooden block and transmission jack as shown.





5. NOTE: The spacer must be positioned exactly as illustrated.

Install the spacer.
1 Remove the bump stop.
2 Install the spacer between the rear lower arm and the crossmember making sure the spacer is in a vertical plane.





Wagon

6. NOTE: Do not fully tighten the rear lower arm to wheel knuckle bolt at this stage.

Attach the rear lower arm to the wheel knuckle.





7. Fabricate a 20 mm wide by 157 mm long spacer.





8. Using a suitable wooden block and a suitable transmission jack, raise the suspension to the design height setting.
^ Position the wooden block and transmission jack as shown.





9. NOTE: The spacer must be positioned exactly as illustrated.

Install the spacer.
^ Install the spacer between the rear lower arm and the crossmember making sure the spacer is in a vertical plane.
