Removal

1. Remove the inner constant velocity (CV) joint boot.

2. CAUTION: Use a vise with protective jaw covers or damage to the shaft may occur.

Remove the outer CV joint boot.
^ Remove the boot clamps.
^ Pull the boot inwards over the front drive halfshaft.





Installation

1. Pack the CV joint with the required amount of grease.

2. CAUTION: Use care not to damage the boot or component damage may occur.

Install the outer CV joint boot.
^ Slide the outer boot outwards over the CV joint.
^ Press the boot into the annular groove on the drive joint.
^ Slide a small screwdriver under the boot seat to allow the air to escape.
^ Locate the boot in position and remove the screwdriver.





3. Install the outer boot clamps using the special tool.





4. Install the inner CV joint boot.
