Gearshift CablesRemoval
1. Remove the air cleaner.
2. Detach the gearshift cables from the transaxle.
1 Detach the gearshift cable (colored white) and the selector cable (colored black) from the shift lever and the selector lever.
2 Turn the abutment sleeves clockwise and detach the cables from the bracket.
3. Shift the gearshift mechanism to the neutral position.
4. Remove the gearshift lever knob and boot.
5. Remove the floor console.
6. Remove the rear footwell heating duct.
7. Remove the center console trim panel.
8. Detach the gearshift cables from the gearshift linkage.
- Turn the abutment sleeves clockwise and detach the cables from the bracket.
9. Detach the gearshift cable from the gearshift lever (gearshift linkage shown removed for clarity).
10. Detach the selector cable from the selector lever (gearshift linkage shown removed for clarity).
11. Remove the left-hand lower heater case duct.
12. Cut the carpet.
13. Fold back the floor covering and sound deadening material (heater core shown removed for clarity).
14. Raise and support the vehicle.
15. Detach the exhaust flexible pipe from the tailpipe and muffler assembly.
- Discard the nuts and gasket.
16. Detach the exhaust front- hanger insulators from the brackets.
17. Detach the exhaust front muffler hanger insulator from the bracket.
- Support the exhaust system.
18. Remove the exhaust front heat shield.
19. Detach the gearshift cable and the selector cable from the floor panel.
20. Lower the vehicle.
21. Detach the gearshift cable and the selector cable bushing from the floor panel and pull the cab through to the vehicle interior (heater core shown removed for clarity).
Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. adjust the gearshift cables.
