Upper Arm

Removal

All vehicles
1. Remove the rear wheel and tire.





2. NOTE: Wagon shown, 3-door, 4-door and 5-door similar.

Detach the upper arm from the wheel knuckle.

3. Detach the shock absorber from the wheel knuckle and position it aside.





All vehicles

4. NOTE: Make a note of the position of the upper arm to aid installation.

Remove the upper arm.

Installation

All vehicles

NOTE: Final tightening of the rear suspension components should be carried out at the design height setting. Load the suspension to achieve this.





1. NOTE: Do not fully tighten the upper arm-to-wheel knuckle retaining bolt at this stage.

NOTE: Wagon shown, 3-door, 4-door and 5-door similar.

Attach the upper arm to the wheel knuckle.





2. NOTE: Do not fully tighten the upper arm retaining bolt at this stage.

NOTE: Wagon shown, 3-door, 4-door and 5-door similar.

Install the upper arm.

3. NOTE: Do not fully tighten the shock absorber-to-wheel knuckle retaining bolt at this stage.

Attach the shock absorber to the wheel knuckle.

All vehicles
4. Install the wheel and tire.





5. NOTE: Wagon shown, 3-door, 4-door and 5-door similar.

Tighten the upper arm retaining bolt.





6. NOTE: Wagon shown, 3-door, 4-door and 5-door similar.

Tighten the upper arm-to-wheel knuckle retaining bolt.

7. Tighten the shock absorber to wheel knuckle retaining bolt.
