Thermostat Housing: Service and Repair

Thermostat Housing - 2.0L- SPI

Removal
1. Drain the cooling system.





2. Disconnect the coolant hose.





3. Detach the coolant hose.





4. Detach the thermostat housing.
1. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
2. Detach the thermostat housing.





5. Remove and discard the O-ring seals.





6. Remove the thermostat housing.





7. Remove the ECT sensor.
8. Remove the thermostat.

Installation





1. NOTE: Make sure to locate the thermostat into the thermostat housing.

NOTE: Install new O-ring seals. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

2. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
