Power Steering Fluid Cooler: Service and Repair

Special Tool(s)
Removal
1. Detach the coolant expansion tank.
^ Position to one side.
2. Disconnect the hose from the fluid reservoir.
1 Detach the reservoir.
2 Disconnect the hose.
^ Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.
3. Detach the hose from the bracket.
4. Raise and support the vehicle.
5. Remove the radiator splash shield.
^ Remove the six screws.
^ Disconnect the air temperature sensor electrical connector (if equipped).
6. Using the special tool, disconnect the fluid cooler hose.
1 Insert the special tool into the hose quick-release coupling.
2 Move the special tool along the pipe to release the locking tangs.
^ Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.
7. Remove the fluid cooler.
Installation
1. NOTE: After installation bleed the power steering system.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
