Stabilizer Bar

Removal

1. NOTE: This procedure must be carried out with the vehicle at or near the curb height setting. Load the suspension to achieve this.

NOTE: If this procedure is to be carried out or a twin post hoist, support the lower arm on both sides.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on hoist. Raise and support the vehicle.





2. Detach the stabilizer bar from the rear lower arm.





3. Remove the stabilizer bar (two bolts each side).
1 Remove the stabilizer bar clamp retaining bolts.
2 Remove the clamps.
3 Remove the stabilizer bar.
4 Remove the bushings.

Installation





1. CAUTION: The stabilizer bar bushings must be located correctly on the stabilizer bar, with no lubricant.

NOTE: Make sure the bushing nipple is on the LH side.

Install the bushings onto the stabilizer bar.





2. Install the stabilizer bar clamps onto the stabilizer bar.
1 Apply water to the clamps to assist installation.
2 Press the clamps onto the bushings.





3. Install the stabilizer bar (two bolts each side).





4. Attach the stabilizer bar to the rear lower arms.
