Antenna Cable: Service and Repair
ANTENNA CABLEREMOVAL
All vehicles
1. Remove the antenna base.
2. Remove both A-pillar trim panels.
3. Remove the sun visors.
4. Remove the sun visor retaining clips.
5. Remove the overhead console.
Vehicles built up to 03/2000
6. Remove the passenger assist handles.
1 Lever open the screw covers.
2 Remove the retaining screws.
Vehicles built 03/2000 onwards
7. Lever open the covers on the passenger assist handles.
8. Using a suitable 6 mm flat-bladed screwdriver remove the passenger assist handles.
- Rotate the screwdriver 90 degrees to release the retaining clips.
All vehicles
9. Carefully detach the front edge of the headliner to allow access to the antenna cable.
10. Detach the antenna cable from the clips (headliner shown removed for clarity).
11. Remove the audio unit.
12. Remove the glove compartment.
13. Detach the passenger side register duct and the antenna cable from the clip near the heater core and evaporator core housing.
14. Detach the antenna cable from the retaining clips on the side of the heater core and evaporator core housing.
15. Remove the passenger air bag module.
16. Detach the antenna cable from the clip underneath the passenger air bag module.
17. Carefully cut the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) material to expose the antenna cable and retaining clips.
18. Detach the antenna cable from the clips behind the NVH material.
19. Attach a suitable draw cord to the antenna cable.
20. Pull the antenna cable through the passenger air bag module opening to expose the suitable draw cord.
21. Detach the suitable draw cable and remove the antenna cable.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
