Removal and Installation
1. NOTE: The thermostat and thermostat housing are serviced as an assembly.
Drain the cooling system.
2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
3. Remove the accessory drive belt.
4. NOTE: LH shown, RH similar
Remove the two power steering hose bracket retaining nuts and position the hose and brackets aside.
5. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
6. Remove the four A/C compressor bolts and position the compressor aside.
7. Remove the hoses to the thermostat housing.
1. Release the spring-style clamps.
2. Twist and remove the coolant hoses from the thermostat housing.
8. Remove the bolts, the thermostat housing and the thermostat as an assembly.
9. NOTE: Lubricate the thermostat housing O-ring with clean engine coolant.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
10. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
