MIL ON WITH DTC P0172 - 2.3L ENGINE

ISSUE
Some 2003-2004 Focus vehicles, equipped with the 2.3L PZEV engine and 4F27E automatic transaxle, may exhibit the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0172 present in the powertrain control module (PCM) and no driveability symptoms.

ACTION
Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest level using WDS release B37.5 or higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
