Mirrors: Service and Repair
EXTERIOR MIRRORREMOVAL
1. Remove the door trim panel.
2. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the illustration and table.
Item 1: Sail Panel Removal Note
1. Release the upper retaining clip before pivoting the sail panel downward.
2. Release the electrical connector from the sail panel.
Item 4: Exterior Mirror Glass Removal Note
1. Position the inner edge of the exterior rear view mirror glass to its maximum travel.
2. WARNING: Place a shop towel between the exterior rear view mirror glass and the hand to avoid personal injury in the instance of glass breakage. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
Grasp the outboard edge of the exterior rear view mirror and pull outward.
Item 6: Exterior Mirror Motor Removal Note
1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Item 6: Exterior Mirror Motor Installation Note
1. When installing the mirror glass, make sure the motor gasket is in position between the mirror glass and the mirror motor, and the mirror glass snaps completely onto the mirror motor.
Item 4: Exterior Mirror Glass Installation Note
1. NOTE:
- When installing the mirror glass, make sure the motor gasket is in position between the mirror glass and the mirror motor, and the mirror glass snaps completely onto the mirror motor.
- An audible click will be heard during installation
Press firmly in the center of the exterior glass until it snaps onto the exterior rear view mirror motor.
