Front Disc Brake





Material





1. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the above illustration and table.
2. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 3: Brake Caliper Assembly Removal Note





1. Remove the caliper flow bolt and the 2 copper washers. Discard the copper washers.

Item 4: Brake Pads Removal Note





1. Compress the disc brake pistons.
^ Use a wood block or used brake pad to protect pistons and boots.

Item 8: Brake Disc Removal Note
1. If the brake disc will be reused, match-mark the hub and brake disc.





2. CAUTION: If it is necessary to machine the brake disc, only use a hub-mount brake lathe.

Measure the brake disc and resurface as necessary. Install a new brake disc if beyond specification.

Item 10: Brake Disc Shield Removal Note





1. CAUTION: Use a 5.5 mm (0.22 inch) drill. Do not exceed past a 6.0 mm (0.24 inch) drill.

Drill out the rivets.

Item 8: Brake Disc Installation Note





1. Clean any rust or foreign material from the brake disc and wheel hub.
^ Use a suitable brake parts cleaner to clean the brake disc and hub surfaces.
^ Apply a suitable anti-seize lubricant to the hub flange.

Item 3: Brake Caliper Installation Note
1. Install new copper washers.
