PINPOINT TEST I: THE LOW FUEL WARNING INDICATOR IS NEVER/ALWAYS ONTest I1-I2:
Test I2-I3:
Normal Operation
Typically, the low fuel indicator will turn on when the fuel level reaches a predetermined level, typically about 1/8 tank. The low fuel level warning indicator and fuel gauge are controlled by the instrument cluster based upon the fuel level data provided by the rear electronic module (REM). When the instrument cluster receives data from the REM that indicates the fuel level has reached the preset low fuel level, the fuel gauge will indicate low fuel and the instrument cluster will turn on the low fuel warning indicator. A correctly functioning fuel gauge indicates that the fuel level modules, the circuitry to the REM, and the REM itself are operating correctly.
