PINPOINT TEST E: THE ILLUMINATED ENTRY IS INOPERATIVE WHEN USING THE REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) TRANSMITTER

Test E1:

Normal Operation
When a signal is received by the RKE module to unlock the doors, sends a dome and footwell lamps on signal to the FEM. The FEM provides a ground for the dome lamp and the RH and LH footwell lamps.

Power to the footwell lamps is provided through switched system power (SSP) relay 2, circuit 30-DD2 (RD/BU) between the battery junction box (BJB) and the central junction box (CJB). The RH footwell lamp is on circuit 29S-LC23 (OG/WH) which is spliced into circuit 29S-LC1 from the CJB. The LH footwell lamp is on circuit 29S-LC11 (OG/WH) which is connected, in the AJB, to circuit 29S-LC5 (OG/BU) from the CJB. The footwell lamps are on protected by CJB fuse 31 (10A).

Power to the dome/map lamps is provided through SSP relay 4, circuit 30S-DB16 (RD/GN) and the battery junction box (BJB) fuse 4 (10A). The dome/map lamps are on circuit 29-LB22 (OG/GN) which is spliced into circuit 29S-LB19 (OG/BU), which is spliced into circuit 29-LB1 from the BJB.

The ground circuit from the dome lamp, circuit 9-LB14 (BN/BU), is spliced into circuit 9-LB19 (BN/RD). The ground circuits from the LH footwell lamp, circuit 31S-LC11 (BK/WH), and the RH footwell lamp, circuit 31S-LC23 (BK/WH), are spliced together to create circuit 31S-LC4 (BK/GN).

The interior lamps ground circuits 9-LB19 (BN/RD) and 31S-LC4 (BK/GN) connect to the AJB where they are combined into circuit 29S-LC3 (BK/RD) to the FEM. The FEM provides the remaining ground connection through circuit 31-DK20 (BK) when a lighting request is received from one of the door ajar switches or the instrument panel dimmer switch.
