Front Door Window Glass: Service and Repair

DOOR WINDOW GLASS

REMOVAL
1. If equipped, remove the removable top.
2. Remove the front door trim panel.
3. Position aside the front door watershield.
4. Connect the window switch.
5. Connect the battery.
6. Fully lower the window.












7. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the illustration and table.

Item 4: Front Door Window Glass Bolt Removal Note
1. Position the window glass to access the door window regulator clamp bolts.

Item 6: Front Door Window Regulator Nut Removal Note
1. Disconnect the electrical connector.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 4: Front Door Window Glass Bolt Installation Note

1. NOTE: The door window glass must be fully seated into the window regulator clamps before the bolt and sleeve assemblies are installed.

Position the window glass into the window regulator clamps.
- Install the two bolt and sleeve assemblies into the window regulator clamps but do not tighten.

2. NOTE: The No. 4 convertible top weatherstrip screw cannot be accessed when the convertible top is in the fully closed position.

Remove the screw and the No. 4 convertible top weatherstrip.

3. NOTE: The door and the convertible top must be closed to carry out this step.

Raise the door window glass to the full up position.

4. Install a 13 mm (0.52 in) wedge between the top of the glass and convertible top No. 4 frame.
5. Tighten the door window regulator clamp bolts.
6. Remove the 13 mm (0.52 in) wedge.
7. Fully lower the window.
8. Install the beltline moulding and weatherstrip.
- Install the pin-type retainer in the weatherstrip moulding.

9. NOTE: The No. 4 convertible top weatherstrip cannot be installed when the convertible top is in the fully closed position.

Install the No. 4 convertible top weatherstrip and the screw.

10. NOTE: The convertible top must be fully closed to check for correct window glass operation.

Operate the door window glass and check for binding and correct the alignment.
