Material





Removal

1. Remove the RH halfshaft and intermediate shaft assembly.
2. Position the intermediate shaft in a soft-jawed vise.

3. NOTE: Do not damage the boot.

Detach the right-hand front drive halfshaft from the intermediate shaft.
^ Remove the large boot clamp and slide back the boot.
^ Pull out the front drive halfshaft from the tripod housing.

Installation

1. Install the required amount of grease in the CV joint housing.
2. Position the tripod in the housing.
1 Push the tripod to the bottom of the housing.
2 Position the boot clamp on the boot.





3. CAUTION: Use care not to damage the boot or component damage may occur.

Install front halfshaft.
1 Insert a small screwdriver under the boot seat to allow the air to escape.
2 Slide the tripod joint in as far as possible, then pull it out 20 mm (0.787 inch).
^ Remove the screwdriver.





4. Install the boot clamp using the special tool.





5. Install the RH halfshaft and intermediate shaft assembly.
