Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CANISTER PURGE VALVE







Removal and Installation
1. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve electrical connector.

2. NOTE: The upper vapor tube has an identification tag attached on the end of tube near the quick connect coupling. If this vapor tube is removed or replaced make sure that the end with the identification tag is reconnected to the upper EVAP canister purge valve port.

Disconnect the 2 vapor tube-to-EVAP canister purge valve quick connect couplings.

3. Depress the release tab and remove the EVAP canister purge valve from the mounting bracket.







4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
5. Carry out the Evaporative Emission System Leak Test. Testing and Inspection
6. Carry out the EVAP repair verification drive cycle.
