Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair
EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CANISTERRemoval and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. NOTE: Clean the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister electrical connector and the immediate surrounding area of any dirt or foreign material.
Disconnect the EVAP canister electrical connector.
3. Release the 2 fuel tube bundle assembly retainer clips from the EVAP canister assembly.
4. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-EVAP canister tank tube quick connect coupling.
5. Disconnect the EVAP canister assembly purge tube-to-vapor tube quick connect coupling.
6. Release the EVAP canister assembly vapor tube retainer clip.
7. Release the fuel vapor tube assembly retainer clip.
8. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube-to-EVAP canister assembly vapor tube quick connect coupling.
9. Remove the 2 EVAP canister assembly nuts.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
10. Remove the 2 EVAP canister assembly bolts.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
11. Remove the EVAP canister assembly.
12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
13. Carry out the Evaporative Emission System Leak Test. Testing and Inspection
14. Carry out the EVAP repair verification drive cycle.
