CLUTCH PEDAL VERY LOW ENGAGEMENT
EFFORT - 4.0L - BUILT FROM 8/20/2007 TO 09/06/2007

FORD:
2008 Mustang

ISSUE
Some 2008 Mustang vehicles equipped with a 4.0L engine, manual transmission and built from 8/20/2007 to 9/6/2007 may exhibit a very low clutch pedal effort during the first 1/2" of engagement (when lifting the pedal off the floor). Subjectively, the driver will have the perception that the clutch pedal is not following their foot. Objectively, pedal efforts will be approximately 5 lbs (2.3 kg) where 12 lbs (5.4 kg) or greater is normal.

ACTION
Replace the clutch pressure plate, following Workshop Manual, Section 308-01.
