Transaxle Filler Tube





Transmission Fluid Filler Tube - Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV)










Transaxle Filler Tube - Non-PZEV









Removal

All vehicles

1. NOTE: Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) shown, non-PZEV similar.

Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.





2. NOTE: Non-PZEV shown, PZEV similar.

Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose and disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose.





Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV)

3. Loosen the Air Cleaner (ACL) inlet hose clamp.





Non-PZEV

4. Remove the 2 bolts.





All vehicles

5. Loosen the clamp, pull the ACL assembly straight up and remove the ACL assembly.





6. Remove the transmission fluid filler tube bolt.





7. Disconnect the throttle control electrical connector.





8. Disconnect the bottom PCM electrical connector.





9. Remove the transmission fluid level indicator.





10. Remove the power steering hose retainers and the wiring harness retainer from the transmission fluid filler tube.





11. Remove the transmission fluid filler tube bolt, rotate the transmission fluid filler tube from under the throttle body and remove the transmission fluid filler tube.





Installation

All vehicles

1. Inspect the transmission fluid filler O-ring for damage before installing the transmission fluid filler tube. If the transmission fluid filler O-ring is damaged, install a new transmission fluid filler O-ring. Lubricate the transmission fluid filler O-ring with clean transmission fluid.





2. Install the transmission fluid filler tube.
- Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).





3. Install the power steering hose retainers and the wiring harness retainer on the transmission fluid filler tube.





4. Install the transmission fluid level indicator.





5. Connect the bottom PCM electrical connector.





6. Connect the throttle control electrical connector.





7. Install the transmission fluid filler tube bolt.
- Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).





8. Position the ACL in place and tighten the ACL outlet pipe clamp.
- Tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).





9. NOTE: PZEV shown, non-PZEV similar.

Connect the crankcase ventilation hose and connect the brake booster vacuum hose.





PZEV

10. Tighten the ACL inlet hose clamp.
- Tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).





Non-PZEV

11. Install the 2 ACL bolts.
- Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).





All vehicles

12. NOTE: PZEV shown, non-PZEV similar.

Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector.
