Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes

Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes

Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes - Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV)

Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes - Non-Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV)

Removal

All vehicles

1. NOTE: Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) shown, non-PZEV similar.

Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.

2. NOTE: PZEV shown, non-PZEV similar.

Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose and disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose.

Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV)

3. Loosen the Air Cleaner (ACL) inlet hose clamp.

Non-PZEV

4. Remove the 2 bolts.

All vehicles

5. Loosen the clamp, pull the ACL assembly straight up and remove the ACL assembly.

6. Remove the 4 secondary latches from the transmission fluid cooler tubes.

7. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the transaxle and the transmission fluid cooler and remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes.

1. Compress the tabs on the transmission fluid cooler tube latches and slide the latch out of the transmission fluid cooler tube to unlock the transmission fluid cooler tube from the transaxle or transmission fluid cooler.

2. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes.

Installation

All vehicles

1. If the transmission fluid cooler tube latches are not in the unlocked position, compress the tabs on the transmission fluid cooler tube latches and slide the latch out of the transmission fluid cooler tube to unlock the latch.

2. Install the transmission fluid cooler tubes. Connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the transaxle and the transmission fluid cooler and slide the latches to the locked position.
- Pull back on each connector to confirm that it is locked on the transaxle or the transmission fluid cooler.

3. Install the 4 secondary latches.

4. Position the ACL in place and tighten the ACL outlet tube clamp.
- Tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).

5. NOTE: PZEV shown, non-PZEV similar.

Connect the crankcase ventilation hose and connect the brake booster vacuum hose.

PZEV

6. Tighten the ACL inlet hose clamp.
- Tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).

Non-PZEV

7. Install the 2 bolts.
- Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

All vehicles

8. NOTE: PZEV shown, non-PZEV similar.

Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector.

9. Check the transmission fluid and fill if necessary.
