A/C - Condensation On Passenger Front Floor

CONDENSATION ON FRONT PASSENGER FLOOR
FORD:
2011 Fiesta
ISSUE
Some 2011 Fiesta vehicles may exhibit condensation on the front passenger floor.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove glove box. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-12 exploded view for Instrument Panel Finish Panel-RH. (Figure 1)
2. Remove hush panel below glove box.
3. Remove passenger side floor console side panel. Refer to WSM, Section 501-12 exploded view for Console - Floor. (Figure 1)
4. Remove the lower half of the passenger side front floor duct. (Figure 2)
5. Disconnect wiring harness connector C296 to the Evaporator Air Discharge Temperature Sensor and wiring clip attached to HVAC. (Figure 2)
6. Disconnect wiring harness connector C293 from the blower motor resistor. (Figure 3)
7. Open clamp on radio vent tube and remove radio vent tube from HVAC. (Figure 3)
8. Starting at rearward end of evaporator tubes, slide corner of foam pad over the top of evaporator tubes, pushing it towards the dash. (Figure 4A)
NOTE
FIGURE 4 IS FOR VISUAL AID PURPOSES ONLY.
DO NOT REMOVE EVAPORATOR CORE FROM VEHICLE.
9. Continue to push foam across top of tubes until foam pad is covering the length of tubes and is centered over the top of tubes. Overlap foam snugly around tubes. (Figure 4B-4C)
10. Using four (4) Motorcraft(R) WA-11-SA nylon cable ties, or locally procured zip ties measuring approximately 11" (27.9 cm) long x 3/16" (4.5 mm) wide, secure foam in place in order shown. Ensure there is no black mastic exposed except near the dash panel. Trim excess off all the cable ties. (Figure 4C)
11. Reinstall the radio vent tube to the HVAC and the tension clamp to the hose inlet. (Figure 3)
12. Reinstall connector C293 to the blower motor resistor. (Figure 3)
13. Reinstall connector C296 to the evaporator air discharge temperature sensor and reinstall the wiring clip attachment to HVAC. (Figure 2)
14. Reinstall the lower half of the passenger side front floor duct. (Figure 2)
15. Reinstall hush panel below glove box.
16. Reinstall glove box. Refer to WSM, Section 501-12.
17. Reinstall passenger side floor console side panel.
