Body - Power Windows Reverse Direction When Closing

POWER DOOR WINDOW GLASS - BOUNCE BACK -
BUILT ON OR BEFORE 6/13/2011

FORD:
2011 Fiesta

This article supersedes TSB 11-11-26 to update the Service Procedure.

ISSUE
Some 2011 Fiesta vehicles equipped with power windows and built on or before 6/13/2011 may exhibit an intermittent power door window glass reversing direction or bouncing back when moving to the closed position.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure to correct the concern.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Fully lower the window glass.

2. Loosen the glass top run from center of B-pillar.

3. Loosen the glass top run from center of top run.

4. Loosen the glass top run from the A-pillar.

5. Remove the glass top run from A-pillar by pulling up.

6. Remove the glass top run from B-pillar by pulling up and discard.





7. Raise window to position shown. (Figure 1)





8. Install the lower portion of the new glass top run into B-pillar using window glass as guide. (Figure 2)





9. Seat the glass top run in the corner of B-pillar. (Figure 3)





10. Raise window to position. (Figure 4)

11. Install the lower portion of the new glass top run into A-pillar using window glass as guide.

12. Seat the glass top run in the corner of A-pillar.

13. Seat the glass top run into the remainder of window.

14. Cycle window glass up and down.
