Wipers/Washers - Rear Washer Fluid Leak

REAR WASHER FLUID LEAK AFTER LAST SYSTEM
ACTIVATION
FORD:
2011 Fiesta
ISSUE
Some 2011 Fiesta 5 door vehicles built on or before 1/18/2011 may exhibit a rear washer fluid leak after last system activation causing calcium deposit on nozzle and stains on glass.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear spoiler. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-08.
2. Lower the cargo shelf.
3. Fold both rear seat backrests forward.
4. Pull the C-pillar upper trim panel toward the center of the vehicle to release the five (5) C-pillar upper trim panel retaining clips.
5. Remove two (2) headliner retaining pins.
6. Gently pull down the rear headliner to gain access to the washer hose and check valve.
7. Disconnect and discard the check valve.
8. Remove the rear washer hose by pulling it from the outside of the vehicle.
9. Install the new hose starting at the spoiler area towards inside of the vehicle and connect it to the headliner hose.
10. Connect the new check valve to the headliner rear washer hose and to the stop lamp connector.
11. Reinstall C-pillar upper trim panel by aligning the C-pillar panel retaining clips to the retaining clip holes in the body.
12. Reinstall headliner retaining pins.
13. Reinstall the rear spoiler. Refer to WSM, Section 501-08.
